Personally, I prefer to agree with your version: makes perfect sense and the intertainment value is perfect to say the least 
Mind, this is because I refuse to believe that my fingers and brain could possibly not communicate
when they are most needed to. As when, the more hurriedier I get - the worse the typing becomes. Somehow the people that know me still manage to make some sense of my "eyh" as yeh....bless them!
