This was the first home I ever built for Sims2, and it's still one of my favorites. It was because of this home, and playing with the rooflines, figuring out how to "trick" the game into letting me put a roof over a half-wall, figuring out how exactly the octagonal roof is placed, and trying time and again to get windows to place correctly on dormers, that made me decide to devote a lot of my game time to building lots.
All of the blood (I got a nasty papercut), sweat, and tears were worth it, I think. I'm still not completely happy with the roof over the porch, but, as with all Sims2 creations, eventually you have to just STOP fiddling and be finished with the darn thing. I originally built this in Veronaville, hence the stucco and brick design, but this home stands out in any neighborhood I place it in. I'm also in love with the gazebo!
This is a truly spacious home, with enough room for most families to live downstairs comfortably...and yet there are six rooms of space unfinished upstairs for future growth! As per usual, I did a basic paint job that I change every time I move a new family into this home, so I encourage you to do the same...besides, I built this home before I started downloading like a mad woman and so didn't have a lot of colors to choose from!
thanks to:
Justa, Boo, and Margierytka at the exchange for the terrain paints and the floor tile, and thanks to Neptune Suzy for the other floor tile which I found at the exchange.
I think y'all are gonna have fun with this one...Welcome Home.
