Welcome to a project that I have recently started after getting inspired by watching my younger daughter, Dakota, play TheSims Makin' Magic a couple of months ago. I thought that it would be neat to try and replicate the houses found in that for our updated version. So, I have taken screenshots in-game of the original houses and am doing my best to recreate them in TheSims2 with as little custom content as possible. I plan on posting two houses at a time, so you can work them into your neighborhoods or even make a new one, like I've done.
The Blackpoint Cottage was one of my favorite houses to use in TheSims, so I made that one first. Its original address was 53 Ingleside Dr. I ended up using a few custom pieces for an Old World feel with the furniture. The only custom item I NEEDED was the Zaun Fence because it has flowerboxes along its length to simulate the Geranium Stand decorative fence from the original game. Other than that, the rest of the custom items can be cleaned and you will still have the replica as I ended up with.
The Sunflower Home was also one of my main houses that I moved my Sims into once their money was high enough. This one probably won't need the extra bathrooms that I always ended up adding to the first one, thank heavens. I was able to reproduce this lovely and relatively inexpensive house without ANY custom content, although you will probably have to use the roof cheat "individualRoofSlopeAngle" if you want the small first floor roofs to remain low. Check out my post for Yoh's Place or Henrik's Amityville House for the instructions if needed.
Thanks and kudos go out to these wonderful creators of custom items used for the Blackpoint Cottage:
