G'day!
How is everyone?  I thought I'd do the proper intro thing using the bosses... errrm, Jessica's format and as I'm also the chatty type (go ahead, speak to me and I'll speak back!), I'll take the chance to ask a technical question (sorry Jessica, I couldn't find the right spot to ask).  First things first...

Here's some stuff about me;
I found this site through MTS2 if not mistaken and had to sign up straight away because I'm familiar with Jessica's excellent work (and now the work of others!).
Age: At time of writing, 47 (born in 1958, old huh?)
Birthday: Sept 30
Location: Gold Coast, Australia... that's the south east corner of the top right-hand corner  :D
Siblings: Yeah three, two sisters and a brother... all older than I and not a computer gamer amongst them?
Hair color: Dark brown
Eye color: blue
Height: 6'
Pets: Only my wife... does that sound wierd?
Favorite Color: Greens, Blues, Purples, and sometimes others depending upon their usage??
Favorite Food: chocolate and chicken... and roast dinners... and Chinese... and Italian... and fish... and errrm, you get the picture.
Favorite Flower: Don't really have one sorry, but I do like flowers, honest!
School: Never went to high school, but now I have a diploma in welfare and councelling (mature age student got me there).
Piercings: None yet, but I'm thinking about my right nipple.
Children: Girl, girl, girl, boy, grand daughter, grand son, and another grand daughter... phew.
Marital Status: Yes, as of writing, I've been married 27 years to the same woman.

I'm not as skilled as these wonderful people (skinners?), I can draw and paint in oils, and also paint miniature figures such as sci-fi and fantasy miniatures in white metal and more recently, in high impact plastics.

I play computer games (mainly strategy games, of which I class both SimCity -- which got me onto Maxis -- and both the original The Sims and The Sims2 with all their EP's), board games, roleplaying games (can anyone say AD&D 2nd Edition?), and tabletop miniature wargames.  I don't think I'm your typical geek as such, I have done many things from working as an orderly in a hospital, laboured in a plant nursery, owned and driven tip trucks, served in the army (first in the artillery, then in the light horse -- mechanised mounted infantry), and become a welfare/social worker... diverse huh?  Man, I do go on.

Okay, for the tech question:  I don't download many pre-made sims, I enjoy making my own.  But sometimes I have when they are exceptional by my outlook.  Now, when such a sim has the content listed as follows:

eyebrows and eyeliner: by barcelonista (mts2)
eyes: by Ennaedwyn
lipcolor: www.helaene.com
eyeshadow: YoFi Sims (site is down)
blush: by nicole107057 (mts2)
earrings: by Elau (you need to go HERE to get the mesh)
necklace: by Samba Sims (you need to go HERE to get the necklace/mesh)
skintone: by Enayla (mts2)
hair: recolored by me (you need to go HERE to get mesh info and see recolors)
outfit: by me (you need to go HERE to get the mesh by Marvine)

Can anyone tell me what happens when you don't download all of the stuff listed with the sim?  I have a hairless pre-made sim which I believe was because the mesh was no longer on the net (the link went to an error about a page that no longer existed).  I could correct the hair issue by putting different hair on her, but that not the point.  If I don't download the eyeshadow for example, what will happen to the sim?  If I don't download the outfit mesh, what will happen to the sim.

I've never seen this asked before (but I might not have looked in the right places).  Can one of the great moderators here please answer this question please?  Like I said, I prefer to make my own but hey, I've looked at all of Jessica's sims and some of them are down right beautiful and if for some reason I can't get a hair or a mesh or whatever, will it be spoilt forever?

Thanks, hugs to all who want em,
-- The Roc

well when i specifically say you have to "click here" to download something it is referring to the mesh...if you dont download the hair/clothing mesh, neither will show up, it will show up as maxi's default, which is fine i guess but it makes the sim look alot different (so you might not recognize them once you turn on the game lol)...if i dont say "click here" but there is a link to a site, i'm just crediting them (other creators appreciate being credited plus some people are opened up to new sites by looking at the ones ive used stuff from)......some sites go out of business after i've used something of theirs but sometimes they just change their layout meaning i have to give new links so if you try downloading a mesh i've linked to and the link doesnt work, let me know in the thread so i can investigate and hopefully correct it :)

I'm glad you came to the site and I'm glad you like my sims

Why, thank-you...

Thank-you for that, I have asked in PM to some people  about that issue, but no-one was really able to answer and funnily enough, I felt I'd get an answer from you or one of your very capable people... and I have, thank-you again.

And thank-you for the welcome.  As for your sims, some are downright HOT!  (he types thinking, that must sound so pathetic coming from an adult in his late 40's when it is about females in a computer game... *blink*blink*)

Hugs,
