~Site Updates, Site News, and New Features~ (August to October)

Ok so some of you may have noticed the forum looks slightly different...or you got some error messages while browsing...
The reason? I was messing with the coding

Here's a list of what I did:

1. Changed font throughout the board...default font is now "Arial" size 11.
2. Fixed tiny errors I noticed (like no navigation on the bottom of the red theme)
3. Made it so that if you click a category (such as "Welcome to Wicked Sims") all you will see is that category until you choose to go back to the forum index. This makes it much easier to view each section.
4. Added a "Gender" hack.
5. Added colors to staff usernames.

Please edit your profile to specify your gender. Once you choose your gender, it will show up on each of your posts and in your profile. Want to see what it looks like? Look at my profile and over there <<<<<<

It's not required, but I decided it would be easier to know what gender somebody is before responding to them so you know whether to say he or she instead of type s/he or they.

Staff usernames are now colored so they will stand out...they aren't pretty colors but it's better than nothing lol.

Our homepage has a new layout.

It took alot of work to get it to turn out semi-decent but I think I'm happy with it for now...I'm not sure if I'm going to change the image I use on the forum (that picture at the very top of each page with the angel and devil) to match the new homepage layout or not, but I did change the default theme to subsilver (even though I don't like the subsilver theme)...this way it kinda matches...

If you have opinions about the new layout, or suggestions, feel free to post in the Site Suggestions thread.

Ok some of you may have come to the site today and saw the site news block at the top or maybe you just noticed everything locked.

Explanation: I was upgrading our hosting today and it would take several hours, since I had already backed up the forum I didn't want you guys to post or upload anything new, because if I had to redo everything (due to my host messing up during the change) I didn't want to lose anything.

Nothing is new or different for you guys though, we just switched to a new bigger plan because they were having a "special deal" and I wanted to take advantage of it before we actually needed it.

Also, we will be hosting Sims2Crave (in addition to already hosting SIMply Vogue)
Once the site has been moved to our server, you will be able to find it at http://www.sims2crave.com

It doesn't add to my hosting fees at all.
Any money you guys donate to me (by going to the donate page and using PayPal) will go to paying for SIMply Vogue, Sims2Crave, and Wicked Sims

Just wanted to let you guys know that  we will be moving to a different type of forum software so the site will be down while the move is in progress...This downtime is planned to be on Friday so expect to see the "site down for maintenance" message (or nothing at all) if you show up here tomorrow or Saturday.
Don't worry, the site will be back up when everything is moved over

Also our contest will be starting on Friday so you will see the contest info up then too
